Title: A Beautiful Kind of Love
Author: Ellie Wade
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: 13 April 2015

Every choice has a consequence.

I believe in soul mates. Why? Because I have one and his name is Jax Porter.

I have known Jax my whole life and I have loved him with every breath I’ve ever taken. The fact that we were born a mere month apart to mothers that are best friends has made us inseparable since birth.

What we have is so rare, one would think our story would be written, our fate sealed. But, unfortunately that’s not how life works. Life offers us many choices that can turn destiny into chance.

I now find myself heading toward a destination that I could have never imagined and I have to figure out where to go from here.

Will the choices that have been made change our path forever or will fate find its way?

Our entire life together has been perfect. We have had eighteen years of foreplay. I don’t need candles or flowers. I need you. Take me to bed and make me yours in the only way that I’m not. ~ A Beautiful Kind of Love
What we have is the absolute rightness of two souls born into this world to complement the other flawlessly. Everything that Jax is and everything that he does is always exactly what I need. A Beautiful Kind of Love
I can’t compare what I’ve had with others to what I could have with you. You are my Lily. There is no comparison. A Beautiful Kind of Love
This right here with Jax and me, our bodies and our souls acting on pure instinct and desire, is what I was made for. A Beautiful Kind of Love

This is the second book I have read by this author and she has given another storyline that delves into the grit and complexities of life that throws it into a path of twists and turns.

Jax and Lily have been friends since forever. Both their mothers were best friends and lived near to each other so it was no surprise that the families were close. But Jax and Lily were so close they knew each other’s thoughts and were soul mates from the start. But neither of them realised this until they hit their teens, after Jax had spent a few years dating and Lily had stayed as his best friend throughout. However on the prom night that Lily asked Jax to escort her, everything changed with one kiss.

After that night and a lot of deep thought both agree to take their best friend relationship to another level, that of girlfriend and boyfriend. Their love sees them through Jax going off to University but then when Lil decides to go to another town to study that takes her further away from Jax, things shift. Jax is under enormous pressure to live up to his father’s standard he expects of Jax that the pressure finally becomes too much and under the weight of obligation and responsibility, Jax feels he is not giving enough to Lily.

I loved the evolvement of the best friends to lovers storyline and instantly fell into like with the pairing. There was lots of love and happy times but it was however, interceded with lots of angst and soul searching that gave such an emotive read.
There were a few timeline issues that did cause me some confusion, especially at the beginning which was occurring when Jax and Lil were twelve years old but the songs spoken about were of current times.

The ending was an absolute smack in the face and left me feeling so down and in despair. I know it’s not long for the next book to be released but even so I would have loved to have a HFN ending at least. Yes I will admit this book did make me cry and my heart stutter so for a book to do that then the author is definitely delivering in pulling on the emotions. Just please hurry up with the next book, I need to know that I am going to get my HEA for Jax and Lil. Four stars.
